Practice makes perfect may not always be true to a lot of persons. Certain factors must be considered to achieve that “perfect” level. That is why it is hard for most people to improve their skill in playing the violin. For beginners who are taking violin lessons, a lot of techniques and guidelines may seem too hard to understand and appreciate. Now I have a few simple tips for you on how to jump start your violin lessons.
It takes more that perfect practice to get to master how to play a violin. You have to make sure it is a productive practice and not just based on purely on what are your mood and the moment. You got to have a goal in every practice that you make, because improper practice, which is not corrected in time can ruin your skill and give you improper results.
As I have said, there are few factors to consider making your environment and even your mood to be conducive for practice to make it productive for you to further improve your skill. One factor to consider is time. You have to know and you should be aware as to what time of the day is you must active, and up-and-about. You have to also to consider as to what time you are focused and productive. That is the best time for you to practice.
If you are learning in a school, classrooms are often time conducive for practice, but if you are at home, you have to find the perfect location for you to practice. It may be in your bedroom or anywhere that you can not be disturb by noises from the outside. Make sure that the room is clean and not topsy-turvy because a messy room can distract you. Gather all your music equipments like your stand, pieces, chair and others.
Another distraction from your practice is also your physical needs. Make sure you have met them before you begin. Like bathroom needs and eating and drinking. If you have one hour to two hours, practice making sure you use them wisely and not waste time going in and out of your practice room. An also inform others like in the office and other family members not to disturb you because this is the only time for your practice unless it is an emergency.
Always start with warm up. Have your hands and fingers limber and strengthen to by going through the scales and trills. If you have a piece to master, you start with it. On not begin with another new piece if you have not mastered the previous one.
Always practice with purpose and make sure it was a productive one, and surely master the skill in violin playing. Take beginner violin lessons seriously because it’s your one step towards violin greatness. It is where basics in violin playing are learned. Even the professionals in violin will advise you that without learning the basics by heart, no matter how much hard work, time, and effort that you will spend to learn to play the violin, it will all be wasted.
