New Rawlings Shoulder Pads!

When it comes to shoulder pads there are a lot of fish in the sea.  Most players really don’t care about all the bells and whistles that shoulder pads have to offer so purchase descisions are most often based on price.  The second most common deciding factor is size and weight.  A lot of players, even experienced players, tend to preffer pads that are lighter even if they offer less protection.

While this methodology protects the wallet it doesn’t always offer the best protection on the field.  I have had many experiences where a semi-pro level football player wants to purchase middle school or junior varsity shoulder pads.  While you may be able to convince yourself that the pads fit right the level of protection is sub standard.

Rawlings has always offered top of the line protection at a fraction of the cost of other shoulder pad manufacturers but until recently high quality shoulder pads offering top of the line features like adjustable clavicle pads or air technology have cost hundreds of dollars.

2008 will be different.  Rawlings has come out with some new shoulder pads that will be shocking the market this year!  The Rawlings Spartan and the Rawlings Titan™ shoulder pads are sure to make some touch downs.

The new Spartan shoulder pad is available in two styles MPL and QBL.  Basically the MPL is for DL-LB-TE-OL-FB  and the QBL is for CB-S-QB-WR-RB-K.

They offer flat pad construction for skill positions and the low profile design provides for excellent mobility and field vision which we all know is very important.  They have customizable memory foam clavicle pads for a personalized fit.  This adjustable clavicle padding makes these pads similar to custom fit pads that cost hundreds of dollars more.  Another benefit is the Rawlings Pro Dri® anti-microbial moisture wicking fabric interior.  Keeps bacteria at bay and keeps pads fresh.

Rawlings also has the new Titan™ shoulder pads.  There are six different pads in this series if you can’t find a pad in this series that fits you I don’t know what will.  They incorporate the air management II™ padding system into the 6 different arch designs to meet the needs of players at any position.  The air management II™ padding system provides for excellent protection while maintaining a lightweight, comfortable fit.  The re-engineered Titan™ shoulder pad line also provides for a number of function design improvements including:

• Improved foam durometer for a more comfortable fit
• Smaller epaulets for increases range of motion and field vision
• Improved epaulets attachment belts
• Velcro attached strip padding for easy removal and cleaning
